Today we traveled to Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City.
The square was absolutely massive and had swarms of people. After pushing through lines, we made it inside the Imperial Palace. I grabbed a quick picture with Mao Zedong before heading inside.
The palace is awesome with an ornate attention to detail. Inside, you get the true sense of how large it really is. Each room is elaborately crafted to perfection. As somewhat of a font guy, it was amazing to see the massive handcrafted glyphs.
Nick then bartered for a rickshaw so we could head up the mountain to Jingshan Park. From here (as shown above) we could really see how impressive the palace is. Along the way, we got a tour of the Beijing streets and saw the house Mao Zedong lived in for one year.
