Day 3: Rained In

Today the weather changed from 96 and sunny to 68 with rain and thunder. After seeing outside stores close their doors and use sand bags to protect them from blowing open in the strong winds, we decided to stay in and explore our hotel.

One of the most interesting parts of this hotel is that it is built into a mall. The first three floors are all shopping centers and restaurants. The others are a combination of small business offices and hotel rooms. We decided to grab food around the hotel (breakfast in our usual spot and Udon from a restaurant in the mall) as we shopped in the stores. The art around the hotel belongs to the mall owner's private collection.

The following is some of the art on the path back to our room. We actually need to walk between the hanging jewels to get to our door.

We ended the day with some delicious hot pot.
